Boris Johnson's proposals include designating more 'low-traffic neighbourhoods', where roads are closed to through traffic, and road closures near schools, to promote cycling among pupils and boost air quality.

Many people have been forced into becoming carers

A series of online sessions is to be run for Brentford's growing army of people who have been forced to become carers during the pandemic.

Hounslow Council is running the information sessions for carers to support them during the crisis and the first takes place on Thursday 19 November from 1pm to 2.30pm.

In 1909 a monument was created out of two stone pillars that were once used to support lamps on the old Brentford Bridge across the Grand Union Canal.

It was originally situated at the end of Ferry Lane but after being covered in coal unloaded from boats, it was moved further up the lane in 1955.
