Brentford Women Assistant Manager Sean Hillier said that keeping a positive mindset after a difficult 5-1 home defeat against Dorking Wanderers Ladies.

The Bees lost their first league match since September on Sunday as a swashbuckling Dorking side proved a stern test for them.

Hillier spoke after the game and said that the most important thing after a big loss was for the team to remember the form that they had been on.

Speaking to club media, he said: "We need to make sure the girls get back to having a positive mindset, next weekend will soon come around and we'll need to make sure we are in the right frame of mind to get a positive result.

"Before today we were on a brilliant run, so I don't want the players to feel disheartened by this result, Dorking are a strong side and they are really tough to play against.

"That [the goal early in the second half] was the worst possible thing that could have happened to us, they completely caught us off guard and we weren't switched on which was disappointing.

"I felt we reacted well but when they got their third that's when our heads dropped slightly, and Dorking took advantage of that."

Hillier was also quick to praise Chloe Logie and how she took her goal to level the scores during the first half.

He said: "It was a brilliant move for our goal, it was an excellent ball from Sophie and the touch and finish from Chloe was nothing short of exceptional.

"I felt we could have given her (Logie) more chances if we were braver and more relaxed on the ball.

""I thought we started the game well and played with confidence so for them to get their opener against the run of play was unlucky.

"It was a slight lapse in concentration which is frustrating but in high-reward games, these things can happen."
