Work to begin on Brentford waterside leisure hub - see how it's going to look

By The Editor 26th Aug 2021

Work is soon to start on a slice of the new Ballymore redevelopment known as Workhouse Dock.

It will create a new foodie destination at Workhouse Dock, an existing but neglected mooring on the River Brent.

This part of the development is to be rejuvenated with 24-hour moorings which will be lined with restaurants, pubs and cafés.

A new public realm including tiered seating terraces will be created to provide what Ballymore says will be "another unique perspective across the water".

A series of raised podium gardens will be interspersed throughout Workhouse Dock

Space will be dedicated for outdoor markets, performance and public events, designed to "add to Brentford's strong community feel".

Ballymore said: "We are pleased to share that we are also close to making a start on bringing Workhouse Dock back into use.

"These complex works will see us restore the dock, including new dock walls and dredging operations."
