A fund-raiser to pay for a plaque in memory of a homeless man found dead under Chiswick flyover has exceeded its target.

Former Brentford resident Georgina Eales set up the GoFundMe page for John Dwyer who was in his 70s and had lived under the flyover for more than three decades.

Georgina's target was £1,000 but the generosity of local people has seen the fund reach almost £3,000.

Many people paid tribute to Mr Dwyer on the page saying they had seen him under the flyover for years.

Mr Dwyer's funeral took place yesterday (Monday) and Georgina wrote: "I will keep the GoFundMe active until we have the memorial on Chiswick roundabout and at Mortlake so I can update you all.

"Thanks to everyone involved today, John had a lovely service and the lovely send-off."
