Who is the most searched for person on Wikipedia in Brentford?

The Pudding created a people map of the UK, replacing town names with their 'most Wikipedia-ed' resident.

And the person Brentfordians most search for?

He is John Bernard Lee, born in 1908 and died in 1981, known as Bernard Lee.

He was an English actor, best known for his role as M in the first eleven Eon-produced James Bond films.

But why would Brentford people look him up? Well, because there is confusion as to whether he was born in Brentford – or Ireland!

Numerous sources insist he was born in the town, while others suggest he came from County Cork in the Republic of Ireland.

Lee's film career spanned the years 1934 to 1979, though he had appeared on stage from the age of six and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

The actor appeared in more than 100 films, as well as on stage and in television dramas.

He was known for his roles as authority figures, often playing military characters or policemen in films such as The Third Man, The Blue Lamp, The Battle of the River Plate, and Whistle Down the Wind.

He died of stomach cancer in 1981, aged 73.
