The new garden centre and farm shop at Syon Park will feature two new eateries – a café and a restaurant.

Hillier Nurseries say work is progressing well at the site and the heaviest elements of the refurbishment work to the new café is almost complete.

Bronze frames for the glazing have started to go in and the base layers of the plant area have been levelled off in readiness for a new smart surface.

This week work will begin on fitting out the shop and restaurant.

The two new eateries have been named as The Clockworktower Café and The Courtyard Restaurant.

Plants and trees, gardening accessories, garden furniture and outdoor cooking ranges as well as giftware will go on sale at a new shop on the site.

Hillier was founded in 1864 by Edwin Hillier and remains a family-run nursery with the fifth generation now actively involved.

It employs more than 700 staff and grows almost one million plants a year.

The company has given no set date for the opening but the aim is to be up and running by the end of Spring this year.
