The Brentford branch of Pets at Home has said it will not open on Monday, September 19, the day of The Queen's funeral.

In a post on social media yesterday, Pets at Home said that the decision to close its stores and Groom salons was taken as a mark of respect and to allow colleagues the opportunity to pay tribute to Her Majesty as a mark of respect.

It added: "In the interest of pet welfare, some vet practices will remain open."
