NO injuries have been reported as a takeaway restaurant caught fire in Hounslow East.

The ducting from the ground floor to the roof was destroyed and a small part of the ground floor and roof were also damaged.

The Fire Brigade was called at 11:02am on Friday, July 30, to a takeaway restaurant on Kingsley Road and brought the blaze under control by 12:07pm.

Six engines and around 40 firefighters from Feltham, Heston, Hayes and Southall attended the scene.

A woman was led to safety by firefighters and was assessed at the scene by paramedics.

Station Commander Richard Janssens, who was at the scene, said: "The fire started on the ground floor of the building and spread via the ducting.

"The road was closed and there was a lot of congestion locally, so we advised people to avoid the area where possible."

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
