THE release of new Brentford FC kits had fans lining the streets for hours to get their hands on the merchandise.

Home, away and goalkeeper kits went on sale last weekend exclusively from the Bees Store on Braemar Road and the stadium merchandise kiosk, before being released via the website on

Monday, July 26.

Fans took to social media to share their experiences, with some arriving at 8:30am to find themselves in 25th place in the queue.

Nick Bruzon, who writes a Brentford FC fan blog, said: "The queue went from bus stop to bus stop.

"A three-hour wait from start to finish to complete our order from going in.

"'Ah, we'll just stroll up at nine o'clock,' I casually said."

He added: "There's nothing like the thought of needing your shirt to travel to Manchester United the following week to get the blood pumping and the spirits high."

The first 1,000 fans who purchased the 2021/22 replica shirts were offered a free Premier League badge printing, courtesy of the club's sponsor Hollywoodbets, with the shirts priced at £49 for adults

and £38 for juniors.

Since winning promotion to the Premier League, Brentford fans have been quick to rally behind their team as they head into the new season.

Others used the photograph of the Braemar road queues to express their sadness at seeing the Princess Royal pub boarded up.

The Fullers owned pub has gone up for sale as its future was put into doubt since the Brentford stadium move from Griffin Park to its new home next to Kew Bridge station.

Griffin Park was the only professional ground in England to boast a pub on each corner.
