Brentford homeowners or residential landlords are being encouraged to apply for a Green Homes Grant voucher towards the cost of installing energy efficient improvements.
The improvements could include insulating your home to reduce energy use or installing low-carbon heating to lower the amount of carbon dioxide your home produces.
The scheme covers two-thirds of the cost of eligible improvements, up to a maximum government contribution of £5,000 or £10,000 if the household is on low income.
To check if you are eligible and for more information on the types of energy saving measures that can be installed, please visit the Government's website on Green Homes Grant
If you are a local business or a tradesperson and are interested in installing energy efficiency measures then we would encourage you to visit the Government's website to find out if you are an eligible certified business and how to register to take part in the scheme.
Councillor Katherine Dunne, Cabinet Member for Communities and Climate Emergency at Hounslow Council said: "This new scheme is welcome news from the Government and will hopefully really help those who wish to reduce carbon emissions from their homes and save money too.
"The Hounslow Climate Emergency Action Plan sets out the Council's commitment to reduce direct emissions from our activities to net zero by 2030, as well as using our influence to reduce wider emissions from across the borough as quickly as possible.
"The Green Homes Grant Voucher scheme will enable Hounslow householders to not only make their homes warmer and save on utility bills, but also play their part in reducing carbon emissions in the local area.
"We would encourage all residents who are home-owners or landlords, to visit the Government's website to see whether they are eligible to receive this funding."
