Hounslow Council have partnered with Turning Point to launch a new Young People's Sexual Health Outreach programme for the borough.

This new service will offer help to people up to 24-years-old with free information, guidance, and support on all aspects of sexual health, contraception, and relationships to help them stay happy and healthy.

Turning are a national health and social care provider and will work with young people through schools, colleges, community groups and other local health services and organisations to deliver relationships and sex education, professional training, sexual health promotion and targeted one-to-one support.

Hounslow Council's Cabinet Member for Adults and Health Integration, Councillor Samia Chaudhary, said: "Hounslow Council and its partners are committed to providing our young people with the very best support to help them feel protected, safe and to enable them to make informed choices about their health and relationships.

"It's so important that we let our young people know that we are standing by them, and we are here when they need help.

"We are delighted to be working with an organisation with a proven track record like Turning Point on this new project. It's exciting that we are involving our young people in developing the identity for the new service and we look forward to seeing the results."

This new service replaces the existing sexual health and outreach scheme for young people in Hounslow, which was partnered with Brook.

Turning Point Chief Executive Julie Bass said: "We are thrilled to be working with Hounslow Council to support the borough's young people.

"We aim to provide them with the education and tools they need to practice good sexual health for the rest of their lives.

"Working in partnership with the Council and other local organisations will allow us to provide a truly needs-based support service and achieve better outcomes for young people in Hounslow."
