A Hounslow firefighter who passed away on 11th April has had a crowdfunding page raise over £16,000 to help support his family.

Paul Melville worked as a firefighter in Hounslow for 22 years as part of the Feltham Green watch and he suddenly fell ill on Easter Sunday and eventually died on Tuesday 11th April despite the best efforts of staff at St Peter's and St George's Hospital.

Melville was a father of two, Samuel, 13, and Jake, 11, and his wife Sarah will now be raising them on her own.

Jake was born with Cerebral Palsy and therefore has additional needs which require multiple medical appointments, care and support.

His fellow firefighters at Feltham Green have set up a crowdfunding page to help his family deal with the loss.

Over 500 people have now helped to raise over £16,000 already to help the family, well over the initial target of £1,000.

You can help to support the family by donating here.
