Hounslow Council are installing YEEP! Lockers in the borough to help fight against the environmental impacts of delivering packages.

Present projections believe that as the amount of online shopping increases, there will have been one billion deliveries to people's homes by 2030, which requires 20,000 delivery vehicles on the roads.

This increase in traffic sees more carbon emissions produced, and a large part of this is the short trips taken from the local warehouses to each individual address, which is the most avoidable part of the process.

A solution to this problem is using out-of-home delivery when shopping online as it means that fewer delivery vehicles will travel fewer miles visiting fewer addresses.

This is why Hounslow Council will be bringing YEEP! Lockers to the borough to help make it easier for people in the borough to reduce their individual carbon footprints by using out-of-home delivery.

As well as reducing carbon emissions, these lockers help to increase the flexibility of delivery as you do not need to be at home to receive a parcel, makes returning parcels simpler, and gives greater flexibility with your daily schedule.
