HOUNSLOW Borough has seen an increase in the number of new coronavirus cases for the third consecutive week.

Specifically, there was an increase of over 44% of new cases in the latest COVID-19 figures that were released.

In the week of July 5 to 11, Hounslow Borough saw 626 new positive cases, compared to 434 the week before.

That figure represents an increase of 44.2%, with 192 more new cases.

That means there was also an increase in the number of new cases per 100,000 residents, with 231.2, compared to 160.3 the week before.

Those figures are still lower than the average across both London and England, however.

London as a whole had 25,533 new cases during the week of July 5 to July 11, which represents 284.9 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

England saw 202,676 new cases during the same week, correlating to 360.1 cases per 100,000 people.
