RESIDENT groups will be protesting outside the Holiday Inn in Brentford this Friday, July 23.

Osterley & Wyke Green Residents' Association (OWGRA) will be protesting against the proposed Tesco/Homebase redevelopment which has been put forward by Berkeley Group and is supported by Hounslow Chamber of Commerce and Hounslow Council.

From 2pm until 8pm, Hounslow Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Council will be running a Hounslow Regeneration & Recovery Conference.

OWGRA will be having 'peaceful, orderly presence outside throughout the meeting and a bigger gathering from 6pm'.

The proposed redevelopment is still to be approved by the Mayor of London.

OWGRA in its newsletter said: "This meeting on July 23 gives us and the communities of Hounslow an opportunity to show our dissatisfaction with developers, their cosy relationship with the Council, ruining our low-rise suburbs with unsightly tower blocks and unsuitably small flats, instead of meeting the dire need for family homes, and not providing the necessary infrastructure like additional public transport, health facilities."
