Hanworth Park play area has received a makeover with new additions revealed.
As part of an ongoing programme to breathe new life into Feltham's historic Hanworth Park, the old equipment in the play area has either being replaced or brought up to date through repair work.
Improvements include new swings, climbing ropes and nets, a new multi-play area, safety surfaces and a zip wire.
The new play area is the latest in a line of improvements at the park, which have included new benches and signs, repairs to a popular Park Run circuit, the installation of CCTV cameras and improvements to the entrance.
Future plans include a wildflower area, a five-year Biodiversity Management Plan, the reinstatement of a bridleway and new perimeter fencing.
In 2020, the Council's parks team was successful in gaining more than £180,000 in funding for the improvement works from the borough's Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).
The parks team later worked with the community to actively support a successful £96,000 Thriving Communities fund bid.
The team then contacted thousands of community members and park users to ask for their views on the plans for the park.
The improvements carried out so far have been given the seal of approval by park users and will form part of a larger 'masterplan' for Hanworth, which will be launched in the New Year.
Local resident and keen Park Runner Ray Hutchinson said: "I love Hanworth Park and it's great to see all the improvements taking place that have been delivered by the Council. Being a Park Runner on a Saturday and having the Park Run track improved has been so beneficial for all the runners."
"Having local residents' views and ideas listened to and acted upon is great and we can see the changes and improvements happening."
"Hanworth Park is more than just a park, it's a place for people, families, exercise, nature, community gatherings and much more. All these improvements have such a positive impact on the community."
Hounslow Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure Services, Cllr Samia Chaudhary, was on hand recently to officially welcome the new play area.
Cllr Chaudhary said: "This is a fantastic milestone in our plans for the future of the park. The benefits of outdoor play can include better health and wellbeing for our young people, along with improved self-esteem and a greater appreciation for the environment."
"What's special about this project is that the communities who use and love Hanworth Park have played an active role in developing it. We would like to thank everyone who took part in the consultation as well as the parks team and Greenspace 360 for making it all happen."
"We hope that the new play equipment will provide children and their families with endless hours of fun and we look forward to seeing more exciting developments at Hanworth in the new year."
