Firefighters saved a man in Isleworth after an unexplained fire broke out in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday, June 8).

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a car on fire on Osterley Avenue shortly after 1.15am.

One man was led to safety by firefighters and treated for smoke inhalation by London Ambulance paramedics.

Fire crews from Chiswick, Feltham and Heston fire stations had the blaze under control around an hour after the Brigade's 999 Control Officers received calls to the scene.

A car parked on the driveway of a house was destroyed in the fire, and a second car and part of the fascia of the semi-detached house were also damaged.

The cause of the fire is unexplained and under investigation by both the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police.
