Ruth Cadbury MP has challenged Conservatives in the House of Commons to remove Boris Johnson as party leader.
The Brentford & Isleworth Labour MP said hundreds of constituents including life-long Tory voters had voiced to her their "disgust" at the Prime Minister's conduct while in office.
Boris Johnson faces a confidence vote tonight against a background of scandal over social gatherings held in Downing Street while the rest of the UK was in lockdown.
The prime minister was among 83 members of government fined for breaking Covid laws which at the time banned people from meeting those from other households indoors.
Cadbury, who cited a failure of leadership and judgement when she called for the PM's resignation in May, today said: I've had hundreds of emails from constituents who are disgusted with the Prime Ministers lying & law-breaking. Some of those contacting me have been life-long Conservative voters.
She added: "Today Conservative MPs have the chance to do the right thing & remove the PM from office."
