The owner of a dangerous dog has been ordered to pay over £3,000, keep it muzzled and on a short lead.

Details of a court case involving the owner and dog have been released by the police and follow two separate attacks.

The first incident happened on April 24 at the Westerley Ware Recreation Ground, which is at the foot of Kew Bridge.

Kew police said the dog was dangerously out of control and bit a member of the public, causing injury.

The second incident happened May 13, in Burlington Avenue, where the same dog was dangerously out of control and attacked another dog, causing injury.

Kew Police said: "The owner of the dog appeared at Willesden Magistrates Court on August 4 and pleaded guilty.

"The owner received a court order to have the dog on a lead no longer than 1.5m long and for the dog to be under control by a person aged 18 or over who is capable of controlling a dog, the dog to be fitted with a muzzle and to be kept in secure conditions to prevent escape.

"In addition to this court order, the owner received a fine of £980 and compensation to be paid to the value of £2,549."

The name of the owner and type of dog was not identified by the police.
