Friday 2 to Sunday 4 September saw Hampton Court Palace play host to the 2022 Concours of Elegance which brought together a selection of 60 of the rarest cars from around the world.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the luxurious show included a range of Britain's most glamorous marque of all, the Aston Martin, which featured HRH Prince Charles' personal DB6 Volante.

The event also welcomed back some of the astonishing previous winners of the coveted 'best in show' crown.

Among the returning Concours, visitors were able to marvel at the 1930 Bentley Speed 6 'Blue Train' Coupe that took home the best in show prize at the 2013 show edition.

Another car making a triumphant return was the Best in Show winner from 2020, a 1969 Porsche 917 KH.

Boasting an incredible backstory, the very same 917 KH was driven by Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood in the world-famous red-white Salzburg design to the first overall win for Porsche at the renowned Le Mans 24 Hours.

Prior to the conclusion of the UK's top Concours d'Elegance event, the owners of the Concours cars themselves were challenged with the almost impossible task of choosing a selection of winners from the elegant range on show.

The coveted Best in Show was awarded to the 1938 Delage D8-120 'de Villars' with the flamboyant brand is known for designing machines for those with deep pockets.

Elsewhere, there were awards given for different eras – again voted for by the owners of the cars themselves. In the pre – 1915 category it was a stately Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Touring from 1912 that emerged victorious, appearing at Hampton Court palace 11 days after its 110th birthday.

For the 1940s and 1950s class, it was the Maserati that took top prize – the stunning Zagato – bodied A6G which was the company's first post-war sports car.

A fierce contest took place in the post- 1980 category, with a special RHD Bugatti EB110 SS from 1994 taking top prize. The brutalist yet sleek aluminium-carbon body cloaked truly cutting-edge materials.

For 2022, the Concours was celebrating the 75th anniversary of Ferrari with a very special category. From the astonishing line-up, it was one-of-the-two, nigh-mythical Ferrari 365P Berlinetta Speciale, more commonly known as the 'Tre Posti' that took victory.

Elsewhere at the event, the inaugural women-only Levitt Concours, which celebrated female car enthusiasts and collectors was a great hit; the trophy went to a sensational 1932 Alfa Romeo Tipo B P3 Monoposto, which delighted and deafened guests in equal measure.
