A planning application has been submitted to convert an empty office space into a care home in Hounslow.

If approved, the application will see a single storey and three-storey building with 39 rooms made available on London Road, Isleworth.

The care home would also bring approximately 60 new jobs to the local area from nursing to chef roles.

The applicants say that Hounslow is in "significant need locally for this sort of accommodation given the aging population."

Currently, the site is made up of a three-storey redundant office building with a car park.

In the plans it says: "The aim from this application is to deliver a high-quality nursing home at this site, however it is recognised that the existing building is too small to accommodate a care home at a scale that would operate efficiently."

It added: "The existing building is not very attractive and does appear incongruous in the street scene.

"Improvements to its appearance could improve and better reveal the significance of the conservation area."

A decision for the application is yet to be made.
