Presents: Comedy Club 4 Kids Ltd

Venue: Watermans

Date: Sunday 22 September 2023

Since 2005, the Comedy Club 4 Kids has been getting the best stand-ups and sketch acts from the international circuit to do their thing for an audience of children and their families… but without the rude bits! It's just like a normal comedy club, but it's on in the day, kids are allowed in, and thus there is a higher than usual chance of heckles like "why is that your face!?"

"Comedy Club 4 Kids has been a highlight for children in recent years, giving them a taste of some of the biggest names in comedy, with the fun, rowdy feel of a real comedy club. Past line-ups have included Stewart Lee, Jason Byrne, David O'Doherty and Adam Hills, and it's always interesting to see how comics adapt their material for kids, and to see those who can get a laugh without falling back on the toilet jokes. (Some do look quite lost when they realise they can't swear at hecklers.)"
The Guardian

Audiences may have already seen Comedy Club 4 Kids at one any of the regular gigs run for all aged 6+, at venues including the Komedia in Brighton, the Cramphorn Theatre in Chelmsford, G Live in Guildford, The Arc in Stockton, and the Soho Theatre in London. Folk may also have seen us at music festivals like Camp Bestival, Cornbury and Larmer Tree, if not at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Regular hosts include CBBC veterans Tiernan Douieb ('The Slammer'), Iain Stirling ('Help! My Supply Teacher's Magic!'), Luke Toulson ('Space Pirates') and Stuart Goldsmith ('Mission:2110').

"The ethos is just right." **** - The Daily Telegraph
"All in all this show was great. It is laugh-your-socks-off comedy fit for the whole family, including parents and grandparents. Nobody will feel left out." **** - The Scotsman
"Go see this show and you'll have sore cheeks from laughing." ***** - Fest magazine

Alongside the shows, Comedy Club 4 Kids runs regular comedy workshops for kids in London. For the benefit of those who don't live near such classes, they have recently produced a nifty guide, How To Be An Unstoppably Amazing Comedy Genius. This 50-page booklet is intended for anyone who'd like to become a stand-up comedian, and can be bought from their website for £6: http://www.comedyclub4kids.co.uk/merchandise.php
