The Adventure Boutique are putting on a once in a lifetime trek in Nepal to fundraise for a school working with hearing impaired children. 

Television presenter Melinda Messenger will be a part of the expedition, alongside Dr Raj Joshi, who has immense experience in the military as well as having led expeditions like the BBC Comic Relief climb on Mount Kilamanjaro. 

The expedition explores the Langtang Valley in Nepal, travelling from Kathmandu all the way to Nuwakot, the journey will last nine days and includes some stunning views on the Himalayas. 

Joshi said: "We're heading over to the Himalayas in Nepal, to go to an area which is called Langtang and that is a beautiful area northwest of Kathmandu towards the Tibetan border.  

"One of the reasons why I've chosen this area is because Langtang the village was destroyed. It was obliterated during the savage earthquake in Nepal in 2015.  

"I actually happened to be in country at that time and got hit by the earthquake. The first one was magnitude 7.8 I think the second was 7.3 and I saw the devastation first-hand. 

"And really sadly the village Langtang was completely obliterated as part of a mountain came off and caused a huge landslide, which destroyed the village and pretty much everyone there at the time. 

"Like a lot of Nepal, they rely on tourism for the economy and it is an area which hasn't had much over the last few years, so the idea is to bring the group over there and help rebuild the economy and the local people." 

Joshi met Messenger whilst they were filming a series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins and he found her to be very adventurous and decided she would be ideal for an expedition like this. 

He said: "I am appearing right now in SAS: Who Dares Wins and we filmed a celebrity version and that is how I met Melinda. 

"She has always been into adventure and is quite a caring person and we just wanted to combine that adventure side and support a worthwhile project. 

"She has a connection with Nepal, she loves the country and when we thought about doing something like this, I thought Nepal would be great for a couple of reasons. 

"One would be about supporting the Langtang area, and also it being close to Melinda's heart." 

There is still time for Hounslow residents to get involved with the expedition and help to support the village and also rebuild a school for hearing impaired children. 

You can do this either by donating to support the work that is going on, or signing up to be a part of the trek. 

Joshi said: "Initially, when I looked at the area, we were looking at a lot of the homes that were destroyed, and one of my Nepali friends had an architect draw up plans to rebuild the people's homes 

"Now a lot of the homes have been rebuilt, but there is still a lot of good that can be done in the area, so rather than looking at homes we looked at what else could help people in the area, and the children and the educational side. 

"This school takes children both locally and from further afield in Nepal, as there aren't many schools which work with hearing impaired children. 

"We are also working with a charity called The Adventure Boutique Foundation and they and try and put a little bit back in to countries that we go to, as well as in the UK."
