A new paddling and rowing club that has moved into Ferry Wharf in Ferry Quays is to hold an open day for local residents.

They are offering people who live in and around Ferry Quays the chance to try out rowing and paddling.

The club is run by Team Keane, a community grass roots club offering public access to rowing and paddle sports.

Team Keane uses charitable funding to support community projects, including athlete sponsorship and hardship funding.

Their aim is to get more people enjoying activities on the river and canal.

The open day on Saturday 22 May from 10am until 5.30pm will allow local people to try out the boats. Adults and children aged 10 will be welcome.

Refreshments will be provided along with a BBQ from 2-4pm.

Team Keane said: "We welcome you to come and visit us and find out a little more about what we do and offer.

"We would also love to talk to you about ideas to improve the community and get more people active on the river and canal."

Because of Covid restrictions, spaces in the boats are restricted. Anyone who wants to have a go will have to email the admin email account first to be allocated a seat in a boat in advance.
