Members of the 'Brentford family' who died in 2020 will be remembered in the coming weeks, Brentford FC has said.
The club has a tradition for a minute's applause to commemorate those who have passed away over the last12 months.
Normally the commemoration takes place at the first home league match of the new year but, after discussions with BIAS, the Brentford Independent Association of Supporters, it has been decided to do things differently this year.
Lockdown restrictions mean fans are not currently allowed into home games.
As a result, the club had delayed remembrance until later in January in the hope that fans may be present.
However, restrictions look set to remain in place for some time to come so the club is to hold the applause on Saturday 30 January when the team face Wycombe Wanderers.
The matchday programme will carry the names of those who fellow supporters wish to be remembered.
To add a name to the remembrance list in the programme email programme editor Chris Deacon – [email protected] – before 5pm on Friday, 22 January.
Emails should have the subject line Brentford Remembers 2020 to ensure they are gathered for inclusion and if you have a picture of the person concerned, please also include that as it may be possible to display them in the stadium on the day.
