ARC Hounslow staff win nursing award
The Addiction Recovery Community (ARC) Hounslow team have been named Team of Year at the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Awards.
The award was given in recognition of the team's work to improve marginalised populations' access to hepatitis C testing and treatment.
To help people break a cycle of addiction to drugs and alcohol, the service is part of the Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust.
ARC was funded by Hounslow Council Public Health, who are dedicated to improving health and life outcomes for Hounslow residents.
ARC Sector Manager, Taruna Rampersad, and her team collected the award at the ceremony held at Liverpool Cathedral on Friday, 10 November.
The judges praised the team's commitment to improving marginalised populations' access to hepatitis C testing and treatment, led by addiction nurse practitioner, Eugenia Moyo-Hlahla.
Cllr Samia Chaudhary, Hounslow Council Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, Public Health and Transformation, said:
"I'm delighted that the ARC Hounslow team has been recognised for the incredibly important work it does across the borough.
"This is a richly deserved award for Taruna, Eugenia and the ARC team and the support they provide that helps people living with addiction.
"The difference they make to people's lives in Hounslow cannot be overstated. Huge congratulations to all involved."
