Brentford put on an outstanding performance at Old Trafford, but it was let down by six minutes of quality from Man United as they completed the comeback in added time.

It looked like Brentford were going to take all three points, but Man United dug deep in injury time with the help of substitutes, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Scott McTominay, with the midfielder scoring twice in the last six minutes of the game.

Brentford throughout defended well and had chances although United kept growing as the clock winded down, eventually stealing the three points from The Bees after McTominay fired it past Albanian keeper, Thomas Strakosha to make it 2-1.

It was the 28-year-old keeper's debut in the Premier League after Mark Flekken went down with an illness in the morning the club confirmed.

Strakosha put on a well rounded performance despite letting two goals in as he made a handful of good saves throughout the game.

The first goal of the match came from Mathias Jensen, who put Brentford up in the 26' minute after he squeezed it past Andre Onana.

Casemiro in the build up gave away the ball which allowed Brentford to attack with numbers and eventually go up 1-0 in Manchester.

United had a couple of half chances, but could not generate anything clear thanks to solid defending from Brentford and their back three of Kristoffer Ajer, Nathan Collins and Ethan Pinnock.

Pinnock was the standout from the backline, having cleared his lines on more than one occasion, blocked a good opportunity from Mason Mount in the first half and did well to control United's forward, Rasmus Højlund.

The Bee's recorded 18 tackles compared to The Red Devil's four, showing Brentford's physical dominance during the game.

As for Brentford's attackers, when they countered through Wissa and Mbeumo, they did well to generate positive chances and looked dangerous as Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans struggled to keep up with their quality and pace.

Despite United having the better chances in the second half, Brentford did have an opportunity via Neal Maupay, who came on for Wissa, when he quickly fired a shot at Onana forcing him to save in the 82' minute.

The fatigue started to show for Brentford as Manchester United scored in the 88' minute, after an Anthony Martial flick deflected off of Kristoffer Ajer and into the net, but was ruled for offside.

United equalised in the 93' minute of injury time following Strakosha stopping Antony's shot, but it fell to McTominay who struck it into the bottom corner as Brentford failed to clear.

Brentford couldn't hang on to the 1-0 lead with 3 minutes left of the game and It went from bad to worse for the visitors, as McTominay gets past Pinnock to head it in, completing United's comeback.

Thomas Frank's side haven't secured a win in six games, as they miss their chance against Manchester United.

They will have to wait for their next opportunity after the international break when they return to host Burnley at home on Saturday 21 October 15:00.

Brentford now sit 14th in the Premier League table with seven points, joint with Everton and Wolves.
