Brentford Women B defeated Hilltop Women 7-1 in a dominant performance on Sunday at Stonebridge Recreation Ground.

The side climbed to first place in the Greater London WFL Division One North table with the win, Kasey Clifford finishing with a hat-trick, Abigail Claringbold scoring twice and Jasmine King and Aleksandra Dzikowska also hitting the scoreboard for the Bees.

Shania Foley nearly got the Bees off to the perfect start with a shot on target in the opening minute, however it was well saved by the Hilltop keeper.

Clifford went one better on 11 minutes, her powerful strike from outside the box finding the top left corner of the net and putting the Bees up 1-0.

Dzikowska increased Brentford's lead to 2-0 on 20 minutes with her first goal for the club, her header off a corner finding the bottom right corner of the net.

Hilltop continued to attack and were rewarded four minutes later, their free kick into the box deflecting off Lillie Elsbury and finding the back of the net to make it 2-1.

It took little time for the Bees to get their two-goal lead back, however, Clifford adding her second goal for the game with a half volley strike that found the roof of the net.

The game opened up in the second half, Brentford able to pile on four goals to none.

Clifford opened the second 45 minutes with her hat-trick thanks to a penalty after Claringbold was taken down inside the box.

Claringbold was rewarded for her efforts with a goal of her own on 71 minutes, running onto a long cross from Elsbury and putting the ball in the back of the net to give the Bees a dominant 5-1 lead.

King added a sixth goal soon after thanks to a brilliant through ball by Foley, King finding herself one-on-one with the Hilltop keeper and finishing.

While they had secured the three points, Brentford continued to attack the goal into the 90th minute, Claringbold kicking her second goal to secure an impressive 7-1 win.

Reflecting on the performance, Brentford coach Tommy Ryan-Maynard was pleased with the dominance his side showed in the second half.

"A really good dominant performance, especially in the second half," he said.

"First half we created loads but it was very scrappy and it wasn't us.

"But second half we did everything right and showed that with four goals ... it was great to see."

Brentford sit first in the table equal on 16 points with East London Ladies, however hold a goal differential of 19 compared to East London's 12.

The Bees will now turn their attention to a clash with AFC Leyton at Bedfont Sports Park on Sunday.
