The match showcased the quality of both sides, with Bryan Mbeumo opening the scoring with a penalty, only to be answered swiftly by Pascal Groß's stunning strike.

However, the defining moment arrived in the form of 18-year-old Jack Hinshelwood's inaugural goal for Brighton, securing all three points and propelling the Seagulls past Brentford. The Bees, eager to build on their recent victory against Luton, face disappointment but provided the home side a hard fought contest.

In a rematch from earlier this season where Brentford faced a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Brighton, the Amex Stadium witnessed another intriguing clash between the two sides.

First Half:

Brighton dominated the early exchanges, with Kaoru Mitoma active on the left-hand side, keeping Brentford's defence on their toes. Brentford manager Thomas Frank was seen jotting down notes as the visitors had to fend off Brighton's attacks, notably through the Japanese winger.

The 20th minute saw Brighton's Pascal Groß with the first chance, but his cut-back went wide. The game took a turn in the 24th minute when Vitaly Janelt was brought down, earning Brentford a penalty. Bryan Mbeumo calmly converted, giving the Bees a 1-0 lead.

However, Brighton responded swiftly, with Groß levelling the score at 1-1 with a brilliant first-time finish from distance in the 31st minute. The first half ended with concern for Brentford as Mbeumo rolled his right ankle and was substituted off before the end of the first half.

Despite Brighton's dominance with six shots and three on target, the halftime score remained 1-1, leaving the match up for grabs.

Second Half:

The second half saw the Ukrainian youngster, Yehor Yarmoliuk, replaced by Keane Lewis-Potter for Brentford.

Brighton intensified their efforts, and Frank Onyeka's block early in the half kept Pedro at bay. The Seagulls then had two quick chances, but their midfielder, Billy Gilmour, was called to action with a crucial goal line save to deny Wissa's fine strike.

In the 52nd minute, 18-year-old Jack Hinshelwood scored his first-ever goal for Brighton, giving them a 2-1 lead. Despite Brentford's efforts, including Pinnock's header going over the bar in the 63rd minute, they struggled to break down Brighton's defence.

Substitutions followed for both teams, with Mikkel Damsgaard coming on for Brentford and James Milner and Evan Ferguson joining Brighton. Lewis-Potter's efforts forced a corner for Brentford in the 71st minute, but they couldn't capitalise.

Brighton patiently controlled possession, and in the 76' minute, Wissa escaped a potential red card as he threw his hand at Gilmour in an attempt to get the ball off of him, but they are both shown a yellow card instead.

Despite Brentford's late attempts, including a save from Flekken against Simon Adingra's volley, they couldn't find the equaliser. The match ended 2-1 in favour of Brighton, who took all three points and got their fourth home win of the Premier League season.

Full Time:

Brighton grab the win, thanks to Jack Hinshelwood's first-half header. Brentford, unable to build on their recent success, gave the Seagulls a tough challenge but fell short in the end.

Brentford remains in 11th place in the table, while Brighton climbs to seventh, surpassing Newcastle. Looking ahead, Brentford visits Sheffield United on Saturday, 9 December, at 3 pm, while Brighton hosts Burnley on the same day and time.
