Brentford Women edged past Whyteleafe with a 2-1 victory to set up a final day showdown for the league title.

Chloe Logie scored early on to give Brentford the lead, before Olianna Bishop struck back on the stroke of half time.

The Bees were able to regroup from this set back and Logie added her 35th goal of the season and they held onto the three points.

With one game left to play against Watford Development in the L&SEWFL Division One North, Brentford trail Dorking Wanderers Ladies by one point in the title race and need for them to drop points against Dulwich Hamlet Reserves to take home the crown.

It took just 13 minutes for Logie to get her first goal of the afternoon when she got on the end of a ball through from Freya Worsley and like clockwork sent the ball beyond the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.

Whyteleafe were struggling to contain the league's top goal scorer as after 30 minutes Mollie Holmes lofted a ball beyond the defence and Logie ran onto it and on the bounce struck just wide of the target.

The hosts got back onto level terms right before the break as they won a corner kick and Bishop rose highest in the middle to nod passed Emily Boycott in the Brentford goal.

The sides were not level for long as eight minutes after the restart, Logie saw her first effort well saved by Poppy Anderson, but she reacted quickest when the 'keeper parried the ball out and the Brentford number nine turned it into the gaping net.

Whyteleafe were making a real contest of the second half and it took the best of Boycott to keep the Bees in the lead when she was at full stretch to save from Abigail Wollvin.

Logie could have had her hat-trick when she raced through one-on-one with Anderson, but her effort went straight into the midriff of the goalkeeper.

Brentford were able to see the game out at 2-1 and claim the all-important three points to keep their chances of the league title alive.
