Brentford Women came undone in the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round as they were comfortably beaten 5-0 away from home against Abingdon United.

Amy Pipe scored a hat-trick for the hosts and Lindsay Pinker and Sahara Osborne-Ricketts got one each as they blew Brentford away in Oxfordshire.

The Bees struggled to contain the Southern Region Premier Division side all afternoon and the result never truly looked in doubt.

This result sends Brentford out of the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round stage and will turn their attention to the League Cup to recover from two consecutive defeats.

Within five minutes Abingdon could have taken the lead as Lauren May looked to test Lilly Hardrava and forced Brentford stopper into a fine save to deny her and May did find then net shortly after, only to be denied by the offside flag.

After 12 minutes it was a marvellous goal from Pipe that opened the scoring as she hooked the ball over Hardrava and into the back of the net from 25 yards out.

Brentford rallied after that goal but 15 minutes later Pipe got her second as she followed in on an effort by May which Hardrava parried and tapped home the rebound.

Bad turned to worse as the third goal came three minutes later when Osborne-Ricketts came up from the back for a corner and got in on the act as she was left unmarked and tucked the ball away when it dropped for her in the middle.

Hardrava did well to keep the score down in the second half, pulling off a string of saves as Brentford struggled to deal with their higher division hosts.

Just one minute from time May got her hat-trick as she slammed the ball in from the middle of the box with such power that even the Brentford 'keeper getting a hand on it could not divert its course.

The for the second time in the game Abingdon scored in quick succession and Pinker got on the scoresheet as she headed home a stoppage time corner to add another layer of gloss to the score line.
