Brentford Women have sold over 6,000 tickets for the Gtech Community Stadium as they prepare for their maiden fixture at the first team stadium this weekend.

The Bees will face Watford Development in the L&SERWFL Division One North this Sunday at the Gtech Community Stadium, the first time the women's side have played there.

Tickets were given away for free to anyone who wished to attend the game and five days ahead of the game over 6,000 tickets have been claimed.

Kirsty Matthews said to club media about the game: "I think everyone is buzzing, really, really excited.

"It is a once in a life time opportunity and we are all really grateful to the club for allowing us to do that and I can't wait for next week.

"We like the fact that we are in with the men's training ground and everything is the same between them and us.

"It goes a long way and I know that we all appreciate it."

This attendance would already be higher than the second biggest ever attendance at the FA Women's National League level, two tiers above Brentford, only behind Newcastle United Women's 22,134 from May 2022 against Alnwick Town Ladies.

First team head coach Karleigh Osborne said: "I am extremely excited and excited for the girls because it is going to be a wonderful occasion.

"We have come a long way in the way that we have been trying to do things and the club have come on board and have been fantastic.

"It is a really important day for us, but ultimately, we have to perform and I need to pick a team that is going to be strong enough to go and win the game.

"I want to win the game in style in front of those fans, I want to win the game with confidence and make sure we perform at our best and put on a real show.

"This is a wonderful opportunity and we hope we can do it more, but now we have been given it we need to make sure that we do well and hopefully push on from there."
