Brentford FC have had a record number of players called up to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar for four different countries.
This tournament will be an unprecedented one for the Bees as they have Saman Ghoddos, Mathias, Jensen, Christian Norgaard, Mikkel Damsgaard, David Raya, and Bryan Mbuemo all representing their countries at the 2022 World Cup, five more than they have ever had at a single tournament before.
Henrik Dalsgaard became the first player to be contracted to Brentford to play at the World Cup in 2018, when he started Denmark's group opener against Peru and now four years later, they have got six players heading to Doha.
Ghoddos will be taking on England after he was called up to the Iran squad by Carlos Queiroz, the forward has played 33 times for his country, scoring twice, having previously represented Sweden on two occasions, and went to Russia four years ago.
There will be three Bees players representing Denmark after Jensen, Norgaard, and Damsgaard were all included in Kasper Hjulmand's 26-man squad.
Jensen was a part of the Red and White's preliminary squad four years ago, but ultimately did not make the final cut; he has since earned 20 senior caps for Denmark.
Norgaard has won 17 caps for his country, all coming since his move to West London in 2019, having won 73 caps at youth level.
Damsgaard shot into international acclaim last summer after being a driving force of Denmark's run to the semi-finals of the European Championship, scoring a free-kick against England at Wembley, but has only started two games for Brentford since his summer arrival at the Gtech Community Stadium.
All three of the Danish Brentford contingent were a part of the squad last summer during the Euros and will be hoping to recreate the success of that tournament.
Raya has been called up by Luis Enrique to be in the Spain squad for the competition, the 27-year-old received his first call-up in March of this year and played his, to date, only game for La Furia Roja in a 2-1 friendly win against Albania, but was in the squad for each of their six Nations League games this year.
Mbuemo has been called up to the Cameroon squad to travel to Qatar, having represented France at youth level, he committed to the Indomitable Lions earlier this year and started both of the games since against Uzbekistan and South Korea.
