Brentford B lost their second semi-final in the space of nine days as they were knocked-out of the Middlesex Senior Cup 1-0 against Hayes and Yeading.

The young Bees peppered the Hayes goal in the first half, but were not clinical enough and failed to make the most of the chances they had.

The game turned in the second half as the hosts took more control and Reece Cole scored the only goal of the game to give Hayes the win.

Defeat means Brentford have been knocked out at the semi-final stage of the London Senior Cup and Middlesex Senior Cup and will now be looking ahead to their third shot at making a final against Fulham in the Premier League Cup next month.

Brentford created a few early chances when Nathan Young-Coombes played a deft pass around the corner to set Tony Yogane away down the left, his low cross flashed across the face of goal and was just too far ahead of Kyreece Lisbie.

Romeo Beckham then came close as he lined-up a free-kick from 25 yards out and his curling effort whizzed just beyond the top right-hand corner of the net.

Hayes and Yeading then showed that they carried a threat when Roger James skipped past the despairing challenge of Max Wilcox, but he pulled his shot just too far back across goal and it went narrowly wide of the post.

Shortly before the break Wilcox found Beckham in space in the half space, he placed his shot towards the bottom corner, but Simon Grant was equal to it and managed to turn the ball around the post for a corner.

Cole had a pair of sighters early in the second half before he received the ball on the edge of the area, swivelled and drove forwards before unleashing a powerful effort from the angle beyond Ben Winterbottom and into the back of the net.

The Bees were rocked after going behind and had Winterbottom to thank for still being only one goal behind as Moses Emmanuel had two shots in quick succession which were dealt with by the 'keeper.

Brentford looked to claw their way back into the game as Beckham fizzed a ball low into the middle, but substitute Lucas Vine failed to make contact with the ball at the back post.

Another cross caused problems for Hayes in the penalty area as Yogane stood the ball up the to the back post towards Max Dickov, but his header back across goal was pushed over the top by Grant.
