Children's Football Festival

2nd May 2023 | Local Sport

Ealing Amnesty International,  Actonians LFCAbresham FC and London's Community Kitchen are supporting Amnesty International's annual Football Welcomes Refugees campaign - to celebrate the contribution players with a refugee background make to the beautiful game, and the positive role football can play in bringing people together and creating more welcoming communities.

In April, we kicked off 'Football Welcomes Month' activity with over 50 asylum seekers and refugees participating in a friendly 5-a-side tournament, followed by an Iftar meal. Check out the match report here and the video here.

We'll next be hosting a football festival for young girl asylum seekers from Afghanistan on May 13th in Feltham.

To make the events open to as many refugee players as possible, we're fundraising to cover the cost of kit, food and gifts for the children (including educational material).

Please show your support by coming along to cheer, or donating any amount here, no matter how small. Contact 07951 401383 for more info.
