Events coming up in Brentford
Thursday: Paint The Town
Following the success of his workshops at The Brentford Project in summer 2021, much-loved local artist, Mr Mr Peace, is returning to host another series of three guided painting classes.
Whether you're a seasoned sketcher or simply dabbling with daubing, take inspiration from Brentford's charming waterside location and surrounding greenery during this Thursday evening session.
Each ticket includes a welcome drink of wine or a soft drink from on-site eatery Rye by the Water. Easels and painting materials will be provided.
Friday: Elvis
Screening at Watermans this weekend is Baz Luhrmann's "Elvis", exploring the life and music of Elvis Presley (Butler), seen through the prism of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker (Hanks).
The story delves into the complex dynamic between Presley and Parker spanning over 20 years, from Presley's rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America.
Central to that journey is one of the most significant and influential people in Elvis's life, Priscilla Presley (DeJonge).
Saturday: Floating Picnic
Hosted in partnership with local water sports club, Team Keane, book a Katakanu – each of which holds six people – for an hour-long peruse down the River Brent.
You'll be given your very own, dedicated picnic basket to enjoy on the water, full to the brim with tasty treats from The Brentford Project's very own on-site bakery and restaurant, Rye by the Water.
Sunday: Matthew Bason One Man Show
The popular pianist and organist, Matthew Bason, is a great entertainer. He plays both the Wurlitzer and electronic organ and is an accomplished vocalist.
Sit back and enjoy a light-hearted and uplifting show at The Musical Museum.
Watermans Arts Centre is the Brentford Nub News What's On sponsor. Without community-minded partners like Watermans we would not be able to produce the locally-relevant, clickbait-free news to the people of Brentford.
