What's on at Watermans this week?

Operation Mincemeat

In 1943, two intelligence officers conceived an ingenious plan called Operation Mincemeat--get a corpse, equip it with secret, but false and misleading, papers concerning an Allied invasion, then drop it off the coast of Spain where German spies would, they hoped, take the bait. Colin Firth and Matthew Macfadyen star as the intelligent officers in this entertaining film.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

Nicolas Cage stars as… Nicolas Cage in the action-comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Creatively unfulfilled and facing financial ruin, the fictionalised version of Cage must accept a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a dangerous superfan (Pedro Pascal). Things take a wildly unexpected turn when Cage is recruited by a CIA operative (Tiffany Haddish) and forced to live up to his own legend, channelling his most iconic and beloved on-screen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones. With a career built for this very moment, the seminal award-winning actor must take on the role of a lifetime: Nicolas Cage.

Benedetta

From renowned provocateur Paul Verhoeven (Elle, Basic Instinct), Benedetta is a subversive erotic drama based on the true story of a 17th century nun entangled in a forbidden lesbian affair. Virginie Efira stars as the titular Benedetta, a nun whose religious fervor begins to manifest in increasingly sensual and violent visions of Jesus. These hallucinations arouse the suspicions of Charlotte Rampling's shrewd abbess, Sister Felicita, whose distrust grows when a farm girl called Bartolomea (Daphné Patakia) enters the convent seeking refuge, and quickly develops an attraction to Benedetta.

Rabbit Academy

Peter Rabbit meets Monsters University in the exciting new animated feature Rabbit Academy. This vibrant and colourful family adventure follows Max, the first city rabbit to be chosen in the master class for Easter Rabbits. Now Max and his friends must find their very own super-power to protect Easter. The unthinkable happens when insidious rabbit Leo begins conspiring with the foxes and schemes to destroy all eggs. Will Rabbits Max, Emmy and their friends manage to stop him?

Turandot

Soprano Lyudmila Monastryska as Puccini's icy princess—live in cinemas on May 7. Tenor Yonghoon Lee is the bold prince determined to win Turandot's love, alongside soprano Ermonela Jaho as the devoted servant Liù and legendary bass Ferruccio Furlanetto as the blind king Timur. Marco Armiliato conducts Puccini's stirring opera, which takes the stage in the company's dazzling, ever-popular production by Franco Zeffirelli.

Little Murmur

Based on the true story of one child's struggle with letters and words, Little Murmur is about facing challenges and overcoming the odds.

An honest and funny tale about the trials and tribulations of seeing things differently, Little Murmur explores the exaggerated realities of living in a world you can struggle to process. Jump into a world of dance, technology and illustration to see this heartfelt journey take flight. Watch bodies and words fly like flocks of birds, a murmuration, a little murmur.
