Watermans Park redevelopment moves a step closer as wreckage is removed

Salvage workers have started to remove one of the boat wreckages at Watermans Park which is to undergo major redevelopment.

The hulk will have holes sealed so that it can be floated down the Thames.

It will be taken in the direction of Hammersmith and on to a scrapyard.

The rundown waterside area is to be developed into a marina.

Under proposals that have been the subject of a planning inquiry, the development would mean the Watermans Art Centre being demolished.

The centre would be moved to another development, the Morrisons site, in Brentford town centre.

Nub News has made inquiries to the Morrisons site developer asking for a timetable as to when the supermarket is due to close and when work will begin but so far they have provided no response.
