These pictures show what Brentford is going to look like in the next few years when the Ballymore redevelopment is complete.

Some of the images show the view behind the high street from Augustus Close going into Brentford Dock while one shot shows what thew high street will look like.

The development will comprise homes, shops, bars, restaurants, and the opening of the waterways.

Ballymore says The Brentford Project will improve and enhance the lives of both residents and visitors alike "by establishing a new residential quarter, a vibrant dining, entertainment and retail scene and an exciting new facet of this proud West London community".

The plan is for a series of lanes and yards, that will re-connect the high street with the waterfront, "creating a place for Londoners to eat, drink, play and work, and experience independent makers, growers, art, music and waterside activities".

The Brentford Project includes approximately 14,000 sq m of new retail, as well as leisure and commercial opportunities, and a gym / leisure centre.

Down by the water a public realm with a range of restaurants, cafés and pubs will line the frontage.

Extensions to the Thames path will open up new walking routes along the water's edge.

Facts about the redevelopment:

  • It spans a land area of 4.79 ha
  • 876 new homes will be built
  • Commercial development will encompass c.4,000 sq m
  • Retail will occupy c.14,000 sq m
  • Leisure / Cultural: c.8,000 sq m
  • Extended Thames path
  • The whole development is due to be completed by 2027 but it will be opened in phases within the next few years.
