Waste collections may be delayed this week due to icy conditions, Hounslow Council has warned.

Councillor Guy Lambert, Cabinet Member for Highways, Recycling and Trading Companies, said services may be disrupted with crews not being able to reach some areas until later in the day.

He said: "Due to icy conditions across Hounslow this week (25-29 January), our refuse and recycling crews may not be able to complete all waste and recycling collections, including bulky waste, because of health and safety risks to residents and crews. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

"Residents are asked not to report a missed collection until after 5pm, as the services may be slightly disrupted and not reach streets until later in the day.

"We will continue to monitor the weather conditions over the coming days and we will update and advise further."
