A virtual question time event is being held tonight (Thursday) for residents, local businesses, and community groups to quiz Hounslow Council Cabinet members about the council's budget proposals.

Leader of the Council, Cllr Steve Curran, will be joined by Cllrs Lily Bath, Deputy Leader of the Council, Shantanu Rajawat, Lead Member for Finance and Corporate Services and Candice Atterton, Lead Member for Adults, Social Care & Health, to answer questions about the proposed budget for 2021/22.

Residents will be able to hear first-hand from cabinet members on the budget proposals before the budget is presented to the council on March 2.

The virtual event will take place on Thursday 25 February at 6pm.

Cllr Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council, said: "These are very challenging times for our residents and businesses.

"It's important that we hear from as many residents and local businesses as possible.

"I hope you will take the opportunity to join us and ask the questions that matter to you. I look forward to seeing you."

The event will be held on Microsoft Teams and to attend the event on the day click on this link.

The council proposes an increase in the council's element of Council Tax of 4.99%, equivalent to £5.30 a month/ £63.62 per year for a Band D property (excluding the greater London Authority precept).

Three per cent of this increase is ring-fenced to protect adult social care – an increase requested by the Government – and 1.99 per cent is a general increase reflecting the impact of inflation on the council's costs.
