This familiar building on Brentford High Street was originally the town's police station.

The structure behind on the corner of Town Meadow served as the main police station with a yard in front.

The yard now features a building that had until recently been home to a company of solicitors.

It is believed that the original cells are still in the basement and there is an interesting set of steps and railings at the back of the building.

The site was originally a dairy with a wall around the yard.

What remains of old advertising hoardings can still be seen above the office on the next door wall.

The police station moved to number 40 High Street, where Watermans currently stands, in 1869.

In the 1960s a police station was built in Half Acre which closed several years ago and now stands empty waiting to be demolished.
