STAFF and students at the University of West London (UWL) have been particularly delighted following Brentford's promotion last Saturday (May 29).

The University which partners with the 'Bees' is looking forward to taking their partnership to the Premier League next season.

UWL and Brentford have a long-term partnership, with the University becoming the first New Stadium Founder Partner last year.

The collaboration provides employment for students, allowing them to learn from the top-class operations which propelled the club to success and led it to England's top-flight for the first time since 1947.

Welcoming the move, Professor Anthony Woodman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of UWL said: "Huge congratulations to Brentford for securing promotion to the Premiership – this is great news, not just for football fans but for the whole community in West London.

"Just like the club, UWL is committed to supporting our community and nurturing promising talent so we can't wait to take our partnership with Brentford to the Premiership for the benefit of our students and the community."
