River levels will be extremely high in Chiswick, Brentford and Isleworth over the next few days.

High tide is forecast at 6.07am and 6.33pm tomorrow (Thursday, April 1) with water levels above five metres.

They will remain high until Saturday.

A flood alert for the Tidal Thames riverside from Putney Bridge to Teddington Weir has been issued.

The Environment Agency said: "River levels are expected to be high as a result of spring tides.

"Flooding of low-lying roads and footpaths is expected, which may exist for one to two hours either side of high tide. Flooding of properties is not expected.

"We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Putney Embankment (SW15), Chiswick Mall and Strand on the Green (W4), Thames Bank at Mortlake (SW14), Ranelagh Drive (TW1), Friars Lane and Water Lane (TW9), Riverside and The Embankment at Twickenham and the Towpath below Teddington Lock.

"Astronomical tide levels are peaking. The river flow at Teddington Weir is normal for this time of year at 75 cubic metres per second and is steady.

"We anticipate the flows to remain normal for the next five days. We are closely monitoring the situation."

Water levels were also high on Tuesday with land next to Brentford Dock flooded on the Syon Park side.
