Remembrance services and ceremonies in Brentford and the surrounding area
People wishing to pay their respects are being reminded about events taking place in Brentford and the wider area to commemorate Remembrance Day.
Remembrance Sunday is held to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.
In Hounslow, there will be a number of local services you can attend on 14 November.
The Mayor of Hounslow, Councillor Bishnu Gurung, will be attending the Feltham and Hounslow Services, along with The Deputy Lieutenant, Mr Paul Kennerley.
The Mayor, an ex-British Gurkha Staff Sergeant himself, recently announced his pledge to support the armed forces by choosing the SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen & Families Association) as his charity this year.
Fellow councillors will be representing the Mayor at other War Memorials across Hounslow.
Sunday service in Brentford
A service for Remembrance Sunday will be held at Brentford Library, the service will start at 10.50am and the procession will be led by Rev. Sarah Guinness from the Parish of Brentford.
Cllr Steve Curran, leader of Hounslow Council, will be in attendance.
Remembrance services across Hounslow
Hounslow centre - 10:30am in Trinity Square, High Street, Hounslow Parade will start from McDonalds High Street, Hounslow.
This service will be attended by the Mayor, Cllr Bishnu Gurung and the Deputy Lieutenant, Mr Paul Kennerley.
A reception will be held after at the RBL Hounslow.
Isleworth - meet at Memorial Square for 10.40-45am where there will a service held, attended by Cllr Sue Sampson, but no parade.
Feltham - Meet at War Memorial, Feltham Green at 2.50pm, event attended by The Mayor – Cllr Bishnu Gurung & The Deputy Lieutenant, Mr Paul Kennerley.
Cranford - 10.45am service of Remembrance at Cranford War Memorial (High Street, junction with The Avenue) attended by Cllr Khulique Malik.
Heston - Arrive at St Leonard's Church, Heston Rd, Heston, Hounslow TW5 0RD at 10.20am for Service followed by the Wreath Laying at Heston memorial. Attended by Cllr Lily Bath- Deputy Leader.
Hanworth - Meet at the Royal British Legion Hanworth – Party will leave at 10.30am, attended by Cllr Samia Chaudhary.
Chiswick – A party will leave Chiswick Memorial Club, Bourne Place Chiswick W4 2EL at 10.45am arrive at Turnham Green Church at 10.50am, following the service the party will march back to Chiswick Memorial club. There will be a reception following the service at the Memorial Club. Council representative, Cllr Tony Louki.
Bedfont - Meet at the Bedfont Memorial, 10:40 (nr Bedfont Library) attended by Cllr Hina Mir, Deputy Mayor.
