Pumpkins, hedgehogs and football art: what's happening at Gunnersbury Park this half-term

Gunnersbury Park & Museum have announced their upcoming events for over the half-term, including an exhibition of the faces from England's football team and children's hedgehog hunts.

Exhibitions

'Above & Beyond' features artist Matt Small's painted portraits of footballers Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Ealing's own Bukayo, Saka alongside their England manager Gareth Southgate.

This free exhibition will be on display throughout October, and seeks to show how we can all, 'go above and beyond the call of duty to make our society a more beautiful place to be'.

An autumnal exhibition opens tomorrow, Thursday 7 October, promising to bring the wild inside!

Family-friendly exhibition Wild invites the public to get up close with the animals that live on our doorsteps, and beyond.

Head down to the Round Pond for a photography exhibition by local people, sharing what the park meant to them during the Covid pandemic.

'Escaping Reality' highlights the importance of public parks as places of wellbeing, on display from 25 October.

For Children & Families

Join Lionel the baby hedgehog on a mission around the museum to find his brothers and sisters and help them prepare for their winter hibernation!

The free family trail, 'Bedtime for Lionel' can be picked up from the front desk from tomorrow, 7 October.

On Thursday 28 October there will be an Autumn Leaf decorating event, if you fancy creating a stained glass effect Autumn leaf decoration to take home.

Fancy some family pumpkin carving? A spook-tacular workshop will take place with expert pumpkin carvers, Friday 29 October, 1:30pm – 3pm - pumpkin included.

Or if you're more into monsters, then on 30 October, there will be a monster crown making event, to take home for your Halloween outfit. Event 12 – 4pm.

Young People

The Youth Forum at Gunnersbury Park Museum are hosting a music night for young people aged 14-19, Wednesday, 27 October 2021, 2 – 4pm.

Attendees are invited to sing, play an instrument, do a reading or just watch, refreshments available.

Fish, meat, bread and cheese can be found at the Gunnersbury Park Farmers Market every Sunday, from 10 am – 3 pm in the field next to the car park.

Gunnersbury Park and Museum is jointly owned by Hounslow and Ealing Councils.
