A 34-year-old woman from Brentford who was caught shoplifting in central Hounslow has been jailed for two years.

Rasa Truncate of Carville Crescent was arrested on July 13 after officers in the Hounslow Central police team recognised her while conducting a routine cycle patrol in the area.

Truncate, who is understood to be a prolific shoplifter, tried to flee police but was detained at the junction of Alexandra Road and Balfour Road and found with a quantity of stolen goods in her possession.

Officers conducted enquiries at local shops and CCTV confirmed that she had stolen over £200 worth of goods.

Truncate was arrested and just two days later on Friday, July 15, found guilty on three counts of theft shoplifting at Uxbridge Magistrates Court.
