Police are appealing for information about a man who absconded from a secure hospital in Ealing on Monday 10th April.

Mosa Jamal Abid, 26, was on escorted leave from the hospital in a newsagent on Uxbridge Road when he ran off at approximately 3pm on Monday 10th April, believed to have gone eastwards along Uxbridge Road and possibly going through Brent Lodge Park.

A thorough search of the area was conducted and CCTV footage was examined, but Abid's whereabouts is unknown.

He is known to be violent and should not be approached by the public if seen, he was last known to be wearing a navy hooded jacket, black trousers, and blue trainers.

He requires medicine for a health condition, so may go to a hospital, and may also attend a mosque during the Iftar period for food and drink, so local hospitals and mosques have been informed to look out for him.

Detective Inspector Alistair Stillgoe, from the local policing team in west London, said: "I recognise this will cause concern in the community, however I want to assure you that we have officers working round the clock to find Mosa and return him to hospital as soon as possible."

Anyone with information that could help our investigation is asked to call 999 quoting CAD 3873/10Apr immediately.
