A planning application to demolish O'Riordans pub on Brentford High Street looks set to be refused by planning chiefs.

Under the proposal, the pub would be knocked down and replaced with a three-storey block of four flats.

But planning bosses at Hounslow Council are recommending refusal of the planning application.

They say the pub would be a loss of a community facility and there is inadequate re-provision.

It would also harm the character and appearance of the site and surrounding area.

The applicant said the pub has been running at a constant financial loss and is not sustainable as a business due to a small kitchen on the first floor with a steep staircase for access.

It was also disadvantaged by limited riverside garden space, no parking, no disabled access and is too close to residential properties which restricts hosting live events to draw in customers.
