Brentford Penguins FC invited to Gordon Ramsay's restaurant

Planet Penguin Football Foundation were invited to come dine at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant after winning the Unsung Hero award at The Sun Who Cares Wins Awards.

The Who Cares Wins Awards are an annual event to spotlight the selfless healthcare workers and volunteers who dedicate their lives to helping others.

Brentford Penguins Football Club started in 2017 and are a non-profit organisation that work with down syndrome players from the ages of five and above within the Brentford community.  

In a X post (formerly known as Twitter), the team said: "Dear Chef Gordon Ramsay, we are absolutely thrilled to be invited to your restaurant for a meal to celebrate our team, the Brentford Penguins Football Club and Allan, our Unsung Hero!

"We couldn't be more excited. Thank you so much for the generous offer."

The celebrity chef and restauranteur in a video message to Allan Cockram and the club, sent his congratulations on winning the Unsung Hero Award:

Gordon Ramsay said: "First of all, I am so sorry I couldn't be with you tonight (The Who Cares Wins Awards), but I just want to say personally a huge congratulations on this incredible award.

"Honestly young man, you are the definition of an unsung hero. Please keep up the great work and enjoy tonight. One more thing, I'd like to invite you and the super talented Brentford Penguins as my guests in one of my restaurants to really celebrate properly. Take care mate, lots of love."

Former footballer, David Beckham and his son Romeo Beckham also surprised Allan and the Brentford Penguins at the Gtech Community Stadium - the home of Brentford FC.
